Three regulatory relief bills are pending floor action following House Financial Services Committee approval:
1. H.R. 4466, by HFS Subcommittee Chairman Shelley Moore Capito, would require federal regulators to reconcile new rules and regulations with existing rules to avoid duplication;
2. H.R. 4521, by Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, would expand CFPB’s small servicer exemption to any financial institution that processes 20,000 mortgage loans or less and provides a small creditor exemption by creditors with assets of 10 billion or less; and
3. H.R. 2673, by Rep. Andy Barr, would make any mortgage loan held in the lender’s portfolio compliant with Qualified Mortgage rule as outlined in Dodd-Frank.
